What is CO2 laser?
The AcuPulse CO2 laser is the gold standard in the aesthetic industry for treating wrinkles, scarring, and other facial imperfections. It treats both the upper and lower layers of the skin using fractionated laser pulses for maximum results with reduced downtime.
CO2 laser can treat:
- fine to moderate facial lines, including the upper lip, cheeks, and forehead
- excess skin of the lower and upper lids
- deeper wrinkles around the mouth (frown lines and jowls)
- age spots and freckles from sun damage
- hyperpigmentation
What to expect with treatment:
CO2 laser is performed in the office setting under local anesthesia. You may receive numbing or sedative medicine for maximum comfort. The procedure can take anywhere from 30-60 minutes depending on the area being treated. Most patients require only a single treatment; however, a subset of patients may benefit from a touch-up treatment at a later date. After your laser procedure, you will be required to use a therapeutic cream (Alastin Soothe & Protect Recovery Balm) for 5-7 days afterward. Redness, tightness of the skin, and a sunburn sensation are normal side effects during the healing process. After the 1st week, you will notice a significant reduction in scarring, wrinkles, and age spots. Additionally, your body will continue to produce new collagen, further enhancing your results over the next 6-9 months.
